Bold Eagle finishes fourth in his last race

Bold Eagle with his lad Hugues Monthule in the bike finished fourth in his final race at Mons in Belgium.

The fourth place was worth 9,600 Euros and that brought Bold Eagle’s lifetime earnings to 5,000,567 Euros. That made him just the second French trotter ever to earn more than five million Euros. The other, Timoko, earned 5,006,731 Euros before he ended his career.

Bold Eagle raced in the Grand Prix de Wallonie, a race he had won twice before.

Now he had to settle for fourth as the heavy favorite, Face Time Bourbon driven by Björn Goop, was an easy winner followed by Valokaja Hindø and Viking d’Hermes, who just managed to get his head in front of Bold Eagle.

Face Time Bourbon, who won the 1-7/16th mile race in 1:54.1 (mile rate), picked up the winner’s purse of 57,600 Euros.
