Bold Eagle leads field in Prix de France

Winless in his last five outings, Bold Eagle, driven by Franck Nivard, can return to the winner’s circle in the Prix de France at Vincennes Sunday afternoon (Feb. 11).

The winter meeting at Vincennes has not been in favor to Bold Eagle so far. He has been denied a victory in three of the four qualification races for the Prix d’Amerique, and in the Prix d’Amerique he was beaten by a neck.

If Bold Eagle is going to win during this meeting, his last chance is on Sunday in the Prix de France, a race he has won the last two years. But it is not an easy task Bold Eagle is facing from post position eight.

Propulsion, driven by ôrjan Kihlström, has drawn post position four and might be able to be in command the whole trip.

The Prix de France is raced over the 1-5/16 mile distance and has a total purse of 400,000 Euro or $490,000.

An interesting starter in the field of 15 trotters is Traders, who recently won the biggest under saddle race in the world, the Prix de Cornulier.
