Bolt Of Beauty wins the Fillies and Mares Open at Tioga

Nichols, NY – Bolt Of Beauty (Braxten Boyd) won the featured $11,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace at Tioga Downs on Saturday (June 12).

Landry Seelster (Wally Hennessey) led to the first quarter in :27.2.  Talk Show Chica (Corey Braden) went right on by to lead with a lap to go.  She led to the half in :57.  Cash Roll (Jim Taggart Jr.) made a first-over move going around the far turn.  Talk Show Chica and Cash Roll went shoulder-to-shoulder down the backstretch.  Talk Show Chica still led by a nose to three-quarters in 1:24.1.

Bolt Of Beauty ($12) came flying as they made the turn for home.  She blew right on by to steal the victory in a lifetime best of 1:52.2.  Talk Show Chica had to settle for second best.  Shecouldbegood N (Mike Merton) got third money.

Bolt Of Beauty is a 4-year-old mare by Bolt The Duer-Natural Luck.  She is owned by Tanah Marah Farms, Sara Miller, and trainer Erv Miller.  It was her third win of the year and 10th of her career.

With four more wins on the card, Wally Hennessey now leads all drivers with 44 wins.  Jody Jamieson is tied for second on the list with Braxten Boyd with each having 24 victories.    Mike Merton (13) and Renaldo Morales III (nine) round out the top five.

Mike Deters has trained the most winners this season with 16 wins.  Jim McDonald is second in wins with 12 tallies.  Marc Major has nine wins for third best.  Dale Gilmore, John Hallett, and Braxten Boyd are tied for fourth with seven wins each.

Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (June 13) with an 11-race card starting at 1 p.m.  Tioga Downs offers a $5,000 guaranteed Pick-4 on Sundays.
