Bondy N, Braden notch Sunday wins in Dover twin features

Dover, DE — Bondy N just got up in the final stride and Braden returned to top form to win the Sunday afternoon, Jan. 20 twin features at Dover Downs.

Ross Wolfenden raced Bondy N second as Eastwood Blue Chip (Ron Pierce) cut out the pace with the exception of the last one when Bondy N closed for a 1:53.2 victory in an $11,500 Male pace. Peter Tritton conditions the 12-year-old gelding by Live Or Die-Killarney for Harry von Knoblauch. Wambam Bam (Sean Bier) finished third. From his days racing Down Under to today, Bondy N has won 32 races and $604,496 in purses.

In the Delaware $20,000 Male Claiming pace, Braden, who closed out last meet with a series of wins, dropped down a notch in claiming price and sped to a new lifetime record of 1:51.3 with Jonathan Roberts at the controls. Bobby Glassmeyer owns and trains the Art’s Chip-Tammy C Tresa gelding who won for the first time in 2013. Native Art (Jim Morand) closed strongly to finish second with Ooh Dear Sam (Tony Morgan) third.

Ross Wolfenden and Tony Morgan visited the winners-circle three times. Brad Hanners and trainer Les Givens and owner Nanticoke Racing had two wins each.

On Monday, Monocromatic and Alexachase renew their rivalry in the $23,000 Mares Open Handicap pace feature.
