Breeding stock in demand at Blooded Horse Sale

Delaware, OH — Breeding stock grabbed the spotlight at the Blooded Horse Fall Sale in Delaware, Ohio.

Peninsula Farm brought a strong consignment led by the young Jate Lobell mare Some Cotton. In foal to the popular Indiana sire Always A Virgin, the nearly black 3-year-old from the family of Silk Stockings was purchased by Kassie Baumgartner of Indiana for $40,000.

Also in that consignment was a gorgeous brown weanling colt by Andover Hall out of the great Winky’s Goal that was purchased by Raymond Miller of Ohio for $32,000. Winky’s Goal, along with a paint recipient mare carrying her Broadway Hall foal, sold to Mario Zuanetti for $12,000.

The Artsplace mare Place It Here, in foal to Always A Virgin, went to Wall Bros Stables of Ohio for $17,000.

Young race fillies were next in strength with the 2-year-old trotter Blue Ridge Lataglia fetching a bid of $20,500 from Forest Bartlett of North Carolina. The daughter of Upalazyriver was consigned by Blue Ridge Standardbred Farm.

The very competitive 3-year-old Ohio fair stakes filly Sammy L was purchased from Herb LeVan for $17,000 by Fred Esposito, agent.

From the Spring Haven Farm consignment came a pair of precocious 2-year-olds. Pacer Dawnofabrightday, with eight wins at Ohio’s county fairs, brought $16,500 from Britney Dillon of Michigan. The consistent Broadway Hall freshman Ziegfeld was purchased by Joe Carroll of North Carolina for $16,000.
