Monticello, NY — The winner’s circle at Monticello Raceway was overflowing with family, friends and fellow horsemen on Wednesday (Nov. 2), as after the card’s eighth race a memorial service was held for Brett Smith.

Monticello held a memorial service for Brett Smith on Nov. 2.
On hand were Brett’s parents, Gary and Tracey Smith.
Brett recently passed away from injuries sustained in a horse training accident.
“The strong showing is a testament of how much Brett was loved and missed by all,” said Eric Warner, Monticello Raceway Race Secretary.
