Broadway Hall colt tops Dutch yearling sale

Downtown Fortuna, a Dutch colt sired by Broadway Hall and out of Saratoga Yankee (she by Yankee Glide), fetched the highest price of $93,000 at the 2 Companion Sale held in The Netherlands.

Saratoga Yankee has earlier brought Broadway Fortuna (by Conway Hall), who is one of the best 3-year-old trotters in The Netherlands. He was second in the Derby, has a mark of 1:59.2 and earnings of $51,000.

The second highest price was $55,000, which was paid for Davy Boko, a colt by the Swedish sire From Above and out of Staro Almighty (she by Yankee Glide).

A winning bid of $39,500 was the third highest price and was paid for a French yearling, A Miracle, sired by Joker de Rozoy and out of New Creation (she by Extreme Dream).

A total of 71 yearlings bred in either The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden or France went through the ring and were sold for an average price of $11,000.

The 2 Companion Sale is arranged by trainer Arnold Mollema and John F. Bootsman of Boko Stables.
