Buck I St Pat has been named 2010 Ohio Horse of the Year.

As well, for the third straight year the Buckeye State’s finest daughter has also been named the Ohio Older Trotter of the Year by the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association and Mare Trotter of the Year by the United States Harness Writers Association.

Adding $715,135 to her coffers in 2010, the daughter of Jailhouse Jesse-Name It Something-Speed In Action lowered her career mark by a full second for the partnership of Dr. Ron Fuller, Howard Taylor, Edwin Gold and Abraham Basen.

Bred by Fuller, the seemingly indefatigable mare now has 49 wins, 13 seconds and 10 thirds from 91 career trips postward, and was driven in most of her 2010 starts by Tim Tetrick for conditioners Ronnie and Mickey Burke, Jr.

Her best performance in 2010 undoubtedly was in the $100,000 Perretti Matchmaker at the Meadowlands on Aug. 7, when she trotted to a career best 1:51.

Other Ohio horses to be honored at the OHHA’s annual Awards Banquet on Jan. 15 at the Columbus Marriott Northwest include Psilvuheartbreaker (Older Pacer); Future Night Train (2-Year-Old Colt Trotter); ML Cupcake (2-Year-Old Filly Trotter); Dancin Yankee (2-Year-Old Colt Pacer); Osborne’s Sweeper (2-Year-Old Filly Pacer); Sing Jesse Sing (3-Year-Old Colt Trotter); Rub Thing (3-Year-Old Filly Pacer); Jesse’s Messenger (3-Year-Old Filly Trotter); and Trick Man (3-Year-Old Colt Pacer).

Reservations for the Banquet must be made by Jan. 7, and payment must reach the OHHA office by Jan 12, 2011. Tickets are $45 each and can be picked up at the Banquet Reservation Table. No tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, contact Jerry Knappenberger at 614.221.8726.
