Buckeye Stallion Series finals set for Saturday at Dayton

Grove City, OH — The Buckeye Stallion Series finals will be contested Saturday night (Oct. 3) at Hollywood Dayton Raceway as part of their Grand Circuit racing program. Each of the eight divisions carries a purse of $60,000.

The 2-year-old filly trot is led by Charming Nancy, who has won four of six races this season while taking a mark of 1:58.2. Aaron Merriman will drive the daughter of Uncle Peter for trainer Chris Beaver. The 2-year-old colt trotting leader is Dontforgetlittlman, who will be handled by Dan Noble for Deborah Swartz. The son of Dontyouforgetit has won five of 10 starts this year with a mark of 1:58.2.

On the pacing side, the 2-year-old filly Smothastenesewisky, who has won seven of eight starts with a best time of 1:53.2, leads the field. The Nob Hill High filly will be driven by Chris Page for Brian Haynes. The top 2-year-old colt pacer is Twig, who has won six of seven starts while taking a mark of 1:53.3. The Mr Apples colt will be driven by Page for Mike Polhamus.

The 3-year-old filly pace will be missing the regular season’s top performer as Narina Hanover was not entered. The second place point earner is Corner Pocket, whom Page will drive for trainer Timothy Grubb. This season, she has won three of 10 starts and taken a mark of 1:53.2. On the colt side of the ledger is Snowmoon, whom Tyler Smith drives for Jessica Smith. Snowmoon has won eight of his 16 starts this season and has established a mark of 1:51.2.

The 3-year-old filly trot is led by Susie D and Lightning Belle. Susie D, who campaigns for the Bryan Weaver stable, will be driven by Ken Holliday. This season, she has won eight of 13 races and recorded a best time of 1:55.3. Lightning Belle, whom Ryan Stahl will drive for trainer Scott Cox, has won seven of 15 races this season and taken a record of 1:56. The 3-year-old colt trot is headed by Exhibit Class, a winner of four of 16 starts this year with a bet time of 1:56.1. Dexter Dunn drives for trainer Sean Smithpeters.
