Buckeye Stallion Series returns to Northfield for 3YO Colt Trotters

Grove City, OH – The Buckeye Stallion Series returns to MGM Northfield Park for the third leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters on Sunday (July 24).  The series has drawn three divisions each with a purse of $17,500.

Three of the previous six winners will be in action and all will be in separate divisions.

In race four, Tango With Me (Deep Chip) has banked $105,223 lifetime with $27,500 this season. The gelding trotter has won two of eleven this year with a mark of 1:56.1 at Scioto Downs. Ronnie Wrenn Jr will handle the lines for trainer Chris Beaver.

In the sixth race, Credit Ace (Uncle Peter) will be driven by trainer-driver David Lake. The gelding’s lone win in eight starts was in the first BSS leg at Miami Valley Raceway in April, winning with a mark of 1:59.3.

The third previous winner is Bankster (Break The Bank K) in race eight, who has won three of nine this season with a record of 1:56.1 at Scioto Downs. Wrenn will drive the gelding for trainer Vernon Beachy.

Eleven Ohio stallions are represented with six by Uncle Peter and four by Triumphant Caviar.
