Hamburg, NY — The New York Sire Stakes start their 2011 campaign at Buffalo Raceway on Sunday (June 5). Seven divisions of 3-year-old filly pacers will take to the Hamburg oval with a first post of 1:05 p.m.

The first division will go as the second race on the 14-race card. New Album (by Western Terror) has won three of her four starts this year, including a win in her Empire Breeders Classic elimination. Also in the first division is Winbak Corazon who finished third in the NYSS final at Yonkers as a 2-year-old.

The 50 cent Pick-4 that consists of three stakes races along with a stakes daily double gets underway in the fourth race. Miss Annie J (for trainer Linda Toscano) headlines the field. Also drawing in were George Teague’s Whirl The Girl and locally trained America Ferrera.

The second half of the mid-double will be another great race. African Viloet, who did not race as a 2-year-old, has looked sharp in her two starts to date at Harrington. She will have some tough competition from Tiamo with driver Stephen Bouchard, Lucky Turn and driver Jason Bartlett and the others.

In the fourth division, race seven, Ray Schnittker’s My Girl’s A Star will start from the far outside. Forbettor Or Worse with driver Matt Kakaley will start just inside her for owner-trainer Robert Horowitz.

Jack Flanigen will look to start City Delight’s 2011 campaign with a win at Buffalo in the eighth race, a feat she was able to accomplish in 2010 when the NYSS visited Buffalo. Also in the same division is Kiddie Cocktail for trainer Mark Ford.

A wide open tenth race going for $21,357 has Southwind Jazmin starting from post six, along with Sweet Bet starting from post two.

The final division in race 11 includes a dime superfecta wager. Haze’s Zure Bet from the Purple Haze Stable, who won her last start, will start from the seven hole. While You’re Too Funny will start from post three.

Of the 52 fillies entered, 16 are by Bettor’s Delight, 10 by Art Major, nine by American Ideal, five by Articape, five by Riverboat King, and four by Western Terror.

Located on The Fairgrounds in Hamburg, N.Y., Buffalo Raceway offers exciting harness racing Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through July 24.
