Bullville Powerful supplemented to Meadowlands Pace

East Rutherford, NJ — For just the second time in history, a colt has been supplemented to the Meadowlands Pace. And once again, he bears the Bullville moniker.

Steve Crevani paid $100,000 to supplement Bullville Powerful — a colt he bred, owns and trains — to the 2008 Meadowlands Pace. The deadline for supplements closed at 12:00 noon on Monday. The fee will be added to the final purse for the Meadowlands Pace, bumping the jackpot for the track’s signature event to $1.1 million.

The entry box for this Saturday’s Meadowlands Pace eliminations closes Tuesday morning. The top 10 finishers from the eliminations will advance to the $1.1 million Meadowlands Pace Final on Saturday, July 19.

Bullville Powerful has a record of six wins and three seconds in nine starts this season. The consistent son of Bettor’s Delight-Bullville Gabettie won the $242,275 Empire Breeders Classic on May 25 at Tioga Downs and was second in the $215,000 Berry’s Creek on May 10 at the Meadowlands.

At 2, Bullville Powerful was first or second in six of his eight starts until a minor suspensory tear curtailed his season. His biggest freshman win was an $82,989 New York Sires Stakes race on September 8 at Yonkers.

Steve Crevani also bred and developed PB Bullville, the first horse ever to be supplemented to the Meadowlands Pace. David Brooks’ Perfect World Enterprises claimed PB Bullville from Crevani for $127,500 just four weeks before the 2000 Meadowlands Pace elims. Brooks anted up the supplemental fee, but unfortunately, PB Bullville broke stride in his elimination and failed to advance to the final.

Crevani, a retired high-rise builder, has five horses in training and 12 broodmares at his farm in Bullville, New York. All of his horses bear the “Bullville” moniker.
