Bushwacker wins $30,000 Preferred at Dover

Dover, DE — Bushwacker made it two wins in a row, stepping up to the $30,000 Preferred Handicap, while Captive Audience romped to victory in the $27,500 Delaware Special, the Monday (Dec. 7) twin features at Dover Downs.

Bushwacker was a 1:50.3 winner for David Miller.
After winning last week’s $20,000 Open Handicap, Bushwacker scored an impressive 1:50.3 success in the Preferred Handicap with David Miller at the controls. The win was the eighth of the year for the 4-year-old Rocknroll Hanover-Dolphins Can Talk gelding owned by Henderson Farms. Chris Ryder conditions the winner of $157,325 this season and $362,612 in his career. Dapper Dude closed well for Vic Kirby to finish second. Atta Boy Dan was third with Brett Miller driving.
Captive Audience powered to a 1:51.4 score in the Delaware Special Handicap with Corey Callahan handling the driving assignment for Carter Racing Stable and owner-trainer Doug Lewis. Sweet Rock (Allan Davis) was a game second. Mustang Art (Marcus Milller) took show honors.
Allan Davis had a three win night. His second came in an $18,000 Open Handicap, driving Reg Hazzard and Legacy Racing’s Bad Boy Matt to victory in 1:52, giving trainer Wayne Givens his second victory. The Badlands Hanover-Mattercycle 5-year-old gelding out-legged Sweet Talkin Satin (Brett Miller) home in 1:52. Givenupdreaming (Callahan) was third. With the win, Bad Boy Matt entered six figures this year with $106,385.
