BV’s Sister wins stretch duel in $23,000 Meadows Trot

by Evan Pattak, for the Meadows

Meadow Lands, PA — BV’s Sister outdueled Whotookwhat in an extended battle and captured the $23,000 Filly & Mare Open Trot on Wednesday (July 2) at The Meadows.

Saddled with post position eight, Whotookwhat was parked out from the start before making the front at the half. That was the signal for Mike Wilder to tip BV’s Sister from fourth and challenge for the lead. The pair raced that way until the lane, when BV’s Sister edged away and defeated her game rival by three-quarters of a length in 1:56.4. Tom’s OK Lady finished third.

Virgil Morgan, Jr. trains BV’s Sister for Barnett Zimmerman LLC. The 4-year-old daughter of Big Victory has taken 14 of 26 lifetime starts for a sparkling win percentage of 53.8.

Dave Palone drove five winners on the 13-race card.
