Bye Bye Felicia and Burn Notice win features at Tioga

Nichols, NY – The action was fast this Sunday (July 25) at Tioga Downs. Come Get The Cash (John MacDonald) went to the front and led to the first quarter in :27.3, but Prairie Westerngal (Wally Hennessey) took control as they headed for the stands for the first time in the Tioga feature.

She continued to show the way and hit the half half first in :56.2. Bye Bye Felicia made her move first-over down the backstretch. Prairie Westerngal hit the three-quarters first in 1:24.1.

As they headed to the stretch Come Get The Cash tried to sneak in at the cones while Be Bye Felicia continued to pressure Prairie Westerngal. Bye Bye Felica finally wore down the runner-up Prairie Westerngal to win in 1:52.4. Talk Show Chica (Corey Braden) came up to finish third.

Bye Bye Felicia is a 7-year-old mare by Woodstock. She is owned by Rick Howles and trained by John Hallett. It was her fourth win this season. She now has 30 career victories. Burn Notice ($3.10) holds on to win the $9,000 Open Trot.

Golden Kronos (John MacDonald) led to the first quarter in :27.3. Burn Notice took the lead with one lap to go. He led to the half in :56.4. Massive Opulence (Braxten Boyd) was the first to challenge going first-up down the backstretch. Burn Notice continued to lead and hit three-quarters first in 1:25.2.

As they made the turn for home Burn Notice shook off Massive Opulence and got loose in the stretch. Then My Lindy Winner (Mike Simons) came flying late but had to settle for second as Burn Notice hung on to win in 1:54.3. Lightfootedlegend (Renaldo Morales III) finished third.

Burn Notice is a 6-year-old gelding by Cayenne Turbo. He is owned by WHR Trust and trained by Michael Deters. It was his eighth win this season and 21 career victories.

Wally Hennessey drove four winners on the card. Mike Deters trained three winners. Braxten Boyd and John MacDonald each had driving doubles as John Hallett enjoyed a training double.

Tioga Downs returns to Live racing on Saturday (July 31) starting at 6:15 p.m.
