Cable wins Florida Amateur Drivers Club race

from the Florida Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association

Pompano Beach, FL — Florida Amateur Drivers Club members took part in their seventh amateur trot event on Saturday night (Dec. 3) at Pompano Park with another new winner emerging in the highly competitive series.

Leon Cable gained his first win in the FADC fall-winter events as he piloted Imahonkyconchman to a rallying win in 1:59.2f. Imahonkyconchman is a 5-year-old gelded son of In Conchnito from the Super Bowl mare Memories Of You, trained and owned by Mario Dessureault. Cable trained and driven horses have purse earnings of more than $2.1 million throughout his career.

Cable joins other winners Jamie Marra (the only two-time winner), Don Glowacki, Teddy Bowman, John Campagnuolo and Thomas Santaramo in the FADC winner’s club. Seventeen club members have driven so far in the weekly FADC races.

Club member Dein Spriggs finished third in this past Friday night’s Delvin Miller Memorial Drivers Championship Silver Division at the Meadows, driving Long Story Short in this 1-1/4 mile event.

Congratulations to Dein and Leon for their accomplishments this week.

Be sure to be on hand Saturday nights for the FADC festivities and say thanks to the members who donate their drivers’ winnings to local charities.
