Callahan to donate earnings to Moore fundraiser

from the USTA Communications Department

Chester, PA — Corey Callahan will make good on his promise this Monday (August 24) at Harrah’s Chester to donate his harness racing driver earnings for the day to the charity fundraiser for Jason “Slim” Moore, a horseman who is a brain cancer survivor. Moore is now facing health challenges from his liver and kidneys without health insurance.

Callahan has elected to use the Tammy Truex sulky, nicknamed “TRANSITION MOC 1” in each of the nine races that he will drive in. The Truex sulky, recently approved by the USTA, is currently on sale on www.ebay.com, as a charity item, with all sale proceeds going to benefit Moore. The sulky retails for $7,000 delivered and is currently bid at $4,450. The bidding ends on August 24 at 9:15 a.m. (EST).

Horse attorney and owner Jeffrey R. Pocaro from Fanwood, N.J., is in charge of the fund raiser. So far, $1,200 was raised at a dinner earlier this month and harness items (whips, Brian Sears’ colors and Yannick Gingras bobblehead dolls) selling on www.ebay.com have raised another $4,000.
