Callahan will win driving title at Dover

Dover, DE — The Dover Downs meet is heading down the homestretch, with closing day set for April 15, and Corey Callahan has sewn up the leading driver title.

Through Wednesday, March 24, Callahan has driven 242 winners since the meet’s opening day on Nov. 1, 2009. Ron Pierce is second with 188 wins. Red hot lately, Ross Wolfenden is third with 184. Defending track champion Tony Morgan is fourth with 139 wins. Jim Morand is fifth with 90 winners.

There is still a contest for the meet’s leading trainer. Defending four-time champion Josh Green is the meet leader with 59 wins, two more than runner-up Wayne Givens with 57 winners. Tim Crissman has moved back into third place with 54, while Dylan Davis is fourth with 53 wins. Completing the top five is Joe Hundertpfund with 49 winners.
