East Rutherford, NJ — On Saturday (June 18) camels and ostriches will thunder down the stretch at Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment for the fifth annual Cameltonian & Ostrich Derby. Admission and parking are free for this event.

The much-anticipated camel and ostrich races will take place during the live harness racing. Fans will watch the ostriches when they battle it out after race three with an approximate post time of 8:20 p.m. and the camels will take their marks after race eight with an approximate post time of 10:30 p.m.

The best seat in the house may be the track’s Victory Terrace. The Terrace features great views of the racing action and the NYC skyline along with a DJ, bar and grill.

Live harness racing will commence at 7:15 p.m. and fans can test their luck in Horseplay. Buy a horse for $1 and throw the horse into the car for a chance to win $100 and entry into the Aug. 6 car drawing for a 2016 Scion FRS. All proceeds in the month of June will be donated to the River’s Edge Horse Rescue and & Sanctuary.
