East Rutherford, NJ — For the first time, animals other than horses will race across the finish line at the Meadowlands.

Camel and ostrich racing makes its debut Friday (June 15). The exotic animals will race in between the live horse races. The first event will take place after race five (8:30 p.m.) and the second event after race seven (9:15 p.m.).

The Arabian Nights theme at the track includes Middle Eastern food, hookahs and a performance by world-renowned belly dancer Amira Mor and her dance troupe.
