Campbell Hall to Italy

by Stacey Kissinger, Comptroller, Barnik Racing Stable

Schenectady, NY — Campbell Hall, a former $125,000 yearling by Striking Sahbra, out of the Garland Lobell mare Canland Hall, has been sold to Italian interests for an undisclosed sum.

The 4-year-old horse is a half-brother to 2003 Trotter of the Year Cantab Hall. Campbell Hall earned over $220,000 in his stake performances in Ontario and the U.S., and will be back in training once on Italian soil with a very prominent owner and trainer located in Italy.

As a 3-year-old Campbell Hall time trialed in 1:54.4 at Lexington’s Red Mile, and raced against such standouts as Majestic Son and Glidemaster.

In 2007, after being purchased at the January Meadowlands Sale by upstate New York owner Nick Andreoli of the Barnik Racing Stable in the Saratoga region, Campbell Hall saw the winner’s circle five times and trotted a 1:57.2 mile at Saratoga which was a national season’s record in early summer on a half-mile track.

Campbell Hall will most likely begin stud duties for his new connections in 2008.
