Canwood, Miss Da Line score opening-leg upsets in Meadows series

Washington, PA— Canwood (9-1) and Miss Da Line (8-1) got the Princess Pablano Trot off to arousing start Wednesday (April 5) at The Meadows when they scored upsetvictories in their $15,000 opening-leg divisions. The series for 3-year-oldfillies honors Princess Pablano, long a top performer at The Meadows and stillactive for trainer Tyler Stillings and owner Rags To Riches Of PA.

Canwood scored at 9-1 in the first leg of the Princess Pablano Trot on Wednesday at The Meadows.

Using Lasix forthe first time, Canwood stalked Criteria from the pocket, then breezed by in theLightning Lane for Brian Zendt to prevail in a career-best 1:57.4. MimosaHanover rallied from well back for second, 3/4 lengths in arrears, while QuietGlide earned show. Bill Zendt trains the daughter of Cantab Hall-Hallywood forJudith Wolkomir and Fred Kayne.

With four ofher rivals already off stride, Miss Da Line pulled the pocket past the half fortrainer/driver Ray Paver and powered off to a handy victory in 1:58, 7-3/4lengths better than Weekend Wit Chucky. Itsgoodtobequeen finished third. HarryHorowitz and Iris Horowitz bred and own Miss Da Line, a daughter of MuscleMassive-Sister Kate.

Tony Hall sweptthe first three races and finished with four wins on the 12-race card.
