Captaintreacherous qualified in 1:50.1 on Friday morning.

Harness racing’s glamour boy and current leader in the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown weekly Top 10 standings, Captaintreacherous, put on a display worthy of the event with a dazzling 1:50.1 mile closed by a :25.4 final quarter.

Away from the races on a planned respite since his Meadowlands Pace tour de force on July 13, Captaintreacherous looked pleased to be back in action and romped to a long lead in the stretch while under restraint by his regular pilot, Tim Tetrick.

The pride of Captaintreacherous Racing, trained by Tony Alagna and managed by Myron Bell, is reported to be headed to Pocono for the Battle of the Brandywine, a part of Super Stakes Saturday on Aug. 17.

Here at the Meadowlands, we are into the final live racing weekend of the season. The highlight is the biggest race of the year, Saturday’s $1.21 million Hambletonian. Find all the info you could possibly need at the Meadowlands website and all social network sites by using the #Hambo13 tag.
