Card is set for Ohio Super Night

Columbus, OH — The table has been set for the richest night in Ohio history, Ohio Super Night. On Saturday (Sept. 27) a 16-race program will boast purses in excess of $2 million at Scioto Downs Racino.

The action packed race card will feature the best Ohio bred freshman and sophomore colts and fillies, along with some of racing’s biggest stars.

The stakes program will kick off with the eight $200,000 Ohio Sires Stakes Championships, including 3-year-old trotting superstar Rompaway Galaxy. He will look to defend his title as the 2-year-old colt champion in race four. Driver Mike Micallef will have the assignment from post eight for trainer Krista Harmon.

The 2-year-old pacing filly Bell Flower will look to make it a clean sweep of the Ohio Sires Stakes in race five on the program. The daughter of Fly Fly Buckeye and Our Lady Countess starts from post seven for trainer Jim Arledge Jr. and regular driver Chris Page.

A red hot Neely’s Messenger will look to complete the trotting Triple Crown for trainer and driver Marty Wollam from post five in race eight.

Race 12 on the card is the $75,000 Sam “Chip” Noble III Memorial Trot. The full field of 10 includes a Kentucky Futurity winner, Creatine; a world record holder, Victory Is Coming; and millionaire Uncle Peter.

The $200,000 Jim Ewart Memorial Invitational Pace gathered a field of eight and their combined total earnings are more than $13 million. The talented group includes harness racing’s richest horse, Foiled Again. The 10-year-old will start from post one and his stablemate Sweet Lou drew post four.

The field also features an Adios winner, Bolt The Duer; track record holder, Kanaris; Indiana Sires Stakes champion, Night Pro; and consistent east coast free for all pacers, Domethatagain and Bigtown Hero.

The stellar card also has the $50,000 Ryder ”Storm Boy” Steck Open Pace which drew a field of eight and a full field of nine for the $50,000 El Dorado Resort Filly and Mare Open Pace.
