Carl Brenneman, 60, dies

Laurel, DE — Longtime Maryland horseman Carl W. Brenneman, 60, died August 28, 2012, after a long illness.

Mr. Brenneman, known as Flip to his friends, was a fixture for many years at Ocean Downs. His green and white colors were a familiar sight throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, where he was a driver and trainer most of his life. He also spent several years on the track crew at Ocean Downs.

Mr. Brenneman is survived by his wife, Vicki; son, Justin, who is continuing the family’s harness racing tradition; and brother, Clair.
