Carl C. Garofalo, 82, dies

Columbus, OH — Carl Garofalo, 82, died July 20, 2021.

Mr. Garofalo loved sports and coached football and baseball for many years in Belleville, N.J. He enjoyed the casino and had many friends there.

He was a long time Standardbred owner and when he was in New Jersey he loved going to The Meadowlands, Freehold, Yonkers and Roosevelt Raceway. In Florida he spent many a day at Pompano Park and Gulfstream Park.

He was the heart and soul of his family and will be extremely missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Evelyn; children, owner/trainer/driver Carl, Debra (Jerold) Kaminsky, and Bill (Michele); daughter-in-law, JoAnn; grandchildren, Ron (Blair) Pope, Valeri (Ruben) Gonzalez, John Pope (fiancé Taylor Smith), Carl, Amanda and Billy; great-grandchildren, Arianna Gonzalez, Caden Gonzalez, Kyler Gonzalez and Francesca (Frankie) Pope; and siblings, Josephine DeLuca and Gary.
