Carolyn Leanora McErlean, 72, dies

Columbus, OH — Carolyn Leanora McErlean (nee Castle), 72, of Wallingford, Pa. and formally of Aldan, was brought to the Lord and his Blessed Mother Mary suddenly on Sept. 15, 2017.

She was a devoted wife of 50 years to Michael; caring mother to Christopher (Michele), Patrick (Elizabeth), Juliet Malley (Daniel) and Brian; loving grandmother to Maura, Cara, Oliva, Alexis, Aidan, Ava, Morgan, Benjamin and Emmett; and dear sister to Robert Castle (Donna). She was preceded in death by her father, John Castle, Jr.; mother, Mary (nee Kearney); and brother, John.

Born April 21, 1945, in Darby, she was a graduate of Holy Cross School in Springfield, The Holy Child Academy in Sharon Hill, Mount Aloysius Junior College in Cresson and she also attended Neumann University in Aston.

Loved by so many friends and family, she was dedicated to her duties serving the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Blessed Virgin Mary Parish and was passionate in her devotion to the Perpetual Novena for Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, St. Anthony and Saint Pio of Pietrelcina.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday (Sept. 23) from 8:30-10:30 a.m. with a Catholic Mass of Remembrance to follow at 10:45 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone.

Family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to BVM St. Vincent de Paul Society, 1101 Main St., Darby, PA 19023.
