by Keith Gisser, assistant publicity director, Northfield Park

Northfield, OH – Northfield Park is scheduled to host Cleveland Cavaliers Anderson Varejao and Daniel Gibson, as well as the Cavalier Girls and Moondog. The first 1,500 in attendance who are wearing Cavaliers gear or who pay the regular price for grandstand admission will receive free pre-autographed photos of the players. Admission is free to anyone wearing Cavaliers gear, while regular grandstand admission is just $1.75 for adults. The Cavalier representatives will be at the track from 7PM to 9PM, with Gibson in attendance the first hour and Varejao, nicknamed Wild Thing, scheduled for 8PM-9PM.

Two winners will be drawn during each player’s hour, with one winning an autographed jersey and the other an autographed basketball. Two more winners each hour will face off with the Cavs in a pop-a-shot basketball shooting contest for cash and prizes. Additional drawings for Cavaliers apparel and autographs will be held throughout the evening.

Northfield and the Cavs have teamed up for a number of promotions this year, with the racetrack sponsoring and providing prizes for the LED dot race at the Quicken Loans Arena during Cavs home games, as well as being featured on player seating. The track also sponsors the out-of-town scoreboard on Cavs TV broadcasts.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with one of the most exciting franchises in all of professional sports,” says Dave Bianconi, Northfield’s Publicity Director. “As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary this year, we want to expose as many people as possible to our brand of excitement, too.”
