Change to the 2012 Dexter Cup Stake

from the Hambetonian Society

Cranbury, NJ — Please note that the conditions for the Open division of Dexter Cup Stake 2012, as published in the USTA Nomination Guide and for which yearling payments will be accepted on May 15, 2010, have been amended.

Under Racing Conditions, paragraph a), delete the following,” …in the period from January 1 of that year…” and insert, “…lifetime earnings…” to read as follows: a) From the other declared horses, those with the least total lifetime earnings up to time of declaration, will be selected to race in a single elimination field with no more starters than can score in a single tier with no trailers. Money earnings for races outside the U.S. will be calculated at the exchange rate for U.S. dollars as determined by the USTA.

The purpose of the amendment is to change the criteria for determining which horses may receive byes from only the 3-year-old earnings to total 2-year-old and 3-year-old earnings.

All yearling nominations for the Dexter Cup 2012, due on May 15, 2010, will only be accepted by the Hambletonian Society and Freehold Racing Association, the sponsor, subject to these amended conditions.
