Charles Cable, 76, dies

Lexington, KY — Charles Cable, 76, a well-known farrier in the Goshen, N.Y., area, died May 15, 2018, at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, N.Y.

Mr. Cable learned his trade from his father and in turn passed that knowledge of shoeing horses to his sons. In addition to his work in New York, Mr. Cable also plied his trade in Florida, Ohio and Michigan.

He is survived by his two sons, Tim (Christy) and Tom (Jody); his life partner, Mary Shallenberger; brothers, Philip H. (Phyllis), Raymond (Patty) and Leon; sisters, Ruth Bales and Marilyn Thomas; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Goshen Historic Track on Saturday (May 19) at 12 noon. All are welcome to attend. Burial will be in Effingham, Ill., at St. Anthony Cemetery, beside his parents.
