Charles Dillander Jr., 64, dies

Columbus, OH — Charles William Dillander Jr., 64, of Vine Grove, Ky., died March 7, 2010, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Louisville.

Mr. Dillander was a driver, trainer and owner and competed at Louisville Downs and The Red Mile.

He is survived by his wife, Becky; sons, Chris (Sharlene), Jason (Heather) and Kenny (Kelli); daughter, Darnell (Doug) Wilhjelm; mother, Mary Elizabeth; brothers, Ron and Steve; sisters, Jan Nalley and Maggie Bistarkey; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Sr.; and a brother, Jerry.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove with Bro. George Blevins officiating. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, with military honors. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 10, from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday, March 11, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
