Christie approves fewer racing dates in New Jersey

Columbus, OH — The Asbury Park Press is reporting that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has signed into law a measure that would allow the state’s Standardbred racetracks to cut their yearly live racing dates to as few as 75 each if agreed to by the horsemen.

Previous legislation required Freehold Raceway to host 168 race days and Meadowlands Ractrack to host 141 days.
