Chucaro Ahijuna back in the winner’s circle

Chucaro Ahijuna found himself back in the winner’s circle Saturday night at Tioga Downs for trainer-driver Paul Bernardo. The 9-year-old son of Noble Speedster is the current world record holder for a double gaited performer.

Chucaro Ahijuna found himself on the outside as they passed the quarter in: 29.1 but easily found his way to the front staying on top to win by five and a half lengths in 1:57.2. The win increased his career earnings to $187,136 for The Berry Stables of Staten Island, New York.

Tim Curtin posted a driving triple on the night’s ten race card, winning with Hack’s Boy for trainer Del Richards, Uni-Optic Man for trainer Wendy Chellis, and Im A Camedian for Jean Drolet.

Tioga Downs will continue live racing action from Nichols, New York on Sunday, August 27 with a post time of 12:50 p.m. (EDT). The feature race of the afternoon will be the $25,000 first leg of The Miss Versatility Series featuring some of the top older trotting mares in the country such as Ticket To Glide, Mystical Sunshine, and Three Little Words.
