Wilkes-Barre, PA — Classic Martine (Classic Photo-Drinking Days) continued her domination of the Bobby Weiss Series for 3-year-old trotting fillies by going gate-to-wire to win the $30,000 final on Sunday (May 5) at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.

With Andy Miller in the bike for trainer Todd Schadel, Classic Martine, who won her previous three starts in the series, prevailed by three-quarters of a length in 1:55.3. Quiet Snow was second and Lady Broadway third.

Lorrie Please used a pocket trip and a furious stretch rally to capture her second straight $25,000 Preferred Pace for mares on Sunday night.

Leaving from post position five in a field of six as the 4-1 second choice on the board, Lorrie Please (Western Ideal-National Gallery) found the pocket early on behind pacesetter Rhapsody Rose.

The 6-year-old mare from the Michael Hall barn watched as Rhapsody Rose and Marty Party hooked up in a speed duel. With all six horses in tight quarters in the stretch, driver Eric Carlson found a hole for Lorrie Please on the inside and she shot through for the win by three-quarters of a length in 1:51. Arctic Fire finished second while Rhapsody Rose faded to third.

Lorrie Please, who is owned by Allen Kaplan, Ira Kaplan and David Sheib, won for the fifth time in 16 races this season. The victory was the 27th of her career and pushed her lifetime earnings to $363,790.
