Classicality is strongest early, strongest late in Meadows trot

by Evan Pattak, for The Meadows

Washington, PA — Classicality won a three-ply battle for the early lead and made that margin stand up as he captured Monday’s (April 30) $20,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Classicality was a 1:53.4 winner in the Monday feature.

Classicality was widest in that early duel but was able to seat 3-5 favorite Lady’s Dude and Wind Of The North behind that one. When Brian Zendt gave Classicality a :29.2 second-quarter breather, the 8-year-old Classic Photo-Penn Worthy Lane gelding was uncatchable, scoring in 1:53.4. Lady’s Dude finished second, 1-3/4 lengths back, while Call For Justice rallied for show.

Lisa Dunn owns and trains Classicality, who extended his career bankroll to $573,792.

Dave Palone collected four wins, including a pair for trainer Ron Burke, on the 13-race card.
