Cleopatra As scores in Scioto series final

Columbus, OH — Cleopatra As scored in gate-to-wire fashion in the $32,000 final of the Richard Brandt Trotting Series at Eldorado Scioto Downs on Wednesday (June 29).

The 4-year-old daughter of Lionhunter was not intimidated by her nine-hole post position. Tony Hall sent her aggressively to the lead from the gate, setting fractions of :28, :57.4 and 1:26.4 before reaching the wire in a new lifetime mark of 1:57. Marge At Large finished second while Lady Ruth was third.

The 2022 season is proving to be the year for Cleopatra As. The mare never started as a 2-year-old and only raced three times as a sophomore. Despite a slow beginning to her career, Cleopatra As now boasts two wins, five second-place finishes and two third-place finishes in 10 seasonal starts. She has bankrolled over $43,000 this year alone for trainer Annette Lorentzon and ACL Stuteri AB.

Live racing returns Thursday (June 30) at Eldorado Scioto Downs with 16 races scheduled. First post is 3:15 p.m. For more information on the facility and live racing season, visit the Eldorado Scioto Downs website.
