Vernon, NY — Vernon Downs is gearing up for its two final race nights of the 2009 season on Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7.

The ninth race of each night will be the feature, with the $10,000 Open Handicap Trot on Friday featuring a field of seven. Angus Mac Donald and John Paul’s Legacy will look for two wins in a row at Vernon Downs off his 1:56.4 tally in last week’s open event.

On Saturday night seven pacers will line up in the $10,000 Open Pace, with Four One One and Joe Nassimos being given the nod as the 2-1 morning line favorite.

Vernon Downs will begin its 90-day race meet in April of 2010 pending regulatory approval from the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.
