Fort Washington, MD — The Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association is looking forward to the 2013 race meet at Rosecroft Raceway. Penn National Gaming announced the details of the Spring 2013 meet on Monday. There will be a 33 percent increase in purses to $50,000 per day and several new additions to the condition sheet.

“We are very excited about the 2013 race meet at Rosecroft and the opportunity for Maryland horsemen to benefit from the increased purses. We are rebuilding the Standardbred industry in Maryland one step at a time and we are grateful that Penn National has been such a strong partner in this endeavor,” said Thomas Cooke, president of CSOA.

“I am so very pleased that the CSOA Track Relations Committee and Rosecroft were able to work together to create a condition sheet that allows our Maryland horsemen to rebuild their stables and upgrade their racing stock. We are looking forward to working with our Race Secretary to fill the box with Maryland preferred horses,” said Sharon Roberts, executive vice president of CSOA.

Qualifiers are scheduled for Feb. 23 and March 1 at 12 noon with the first day of racing scheduled for March 9. All races will carry an entry preference for all horses that are Maryland owned, sired, foaled or trained. All Maryland horsemen are encouraged to submit their applications for racing privileges as soon as possible.
