Codys Watching reasserts, wins Meadows feature

Washington, PA — After being passed by Dancin Sancho through the final turn, Codys Watching reasserted in the lane to gain a gritty victory in Tuesday’s (Nov. 15) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $13,600 conditioned pace.

Dancin Sancho moved powerfully first-over and appeared to put Codys Watching away. But the 4-year-old He’s Watching-Shellyssilvermoon gelding responded to Aaron Merriman’s urging and edged Dancin Sancho by a head in 1:54 over a sloppy surface. Silver Maple finished third.

Randy Bendis trains Codys Watching and owns with Pollack Racing LLC.

Ridge Warren piloted four winners while trainer Brandon Presto and Merriman each enjoyed a three-bagger.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday (Nov. 16), when the 12-race program features a pair of carryovers: $715.55 in the final-race Jackpot Super Hi-5 and $257.40 in the Jackpot Pick-5 (races 4-8). First post is 12:45 p.m.
