New Kent, VA — The Virginia Racing Commission awarded 2011 racing dates to Colonial Downs at their monthly meeting on Tuesday (March 22).

The fall harness season will run from September 17–November 5, with a total of 30 race days. Pacers and trotters will compete every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, all at 1 p.m. There will be a special card scheduled on Friday, November 4.

Highlight of the meet will be the annual $300,000 (est.) Virginia Harness “Day of Champions” on November 5, which is held in conjunction with the Breeders’ Cup simulcast.
