Consignors comment on upcoming Goshen Yearling Sale

Middletown, NY — With the Goshen Yearling Sale fast approaching on Monday (Sept. 14), the 90 yearlings being offered this year are currently being examined by many interested parties in person, on video and in the catalog.

However no one has observed these horses closer than the respective managers of each farm at which they were bred. Here are some opinions they have offered about who stands out to them from their groups.

Steve Jones – Owner – Cameo Hills Farms

“We are excited to be selling 14 yearlings from the first crop of Huntsville. They are exceptional individuals and very athletic.”

“(HN 48) Thetowerfrompower (Huntsville-Under Your Spell) is an outstanding colt out of the $465,000 performer Under Your Spell. (HN 87) Koepka (Huntsville-Dune In Red) is a very nice colt out of Dune In Red who earned $385,000 racing. (HN 89) Greg The Leg (Huntsville-Encore Deo) is out of Encore Deo who earned $195,000 racing and is from the maternal family of the great Eternal Camnation (1:49.2, $3,748,574). (HN 29) Instant Expert (Huntsville-Pedigree Snob) is out of $439,000 performer Pedigree Snob. (HN 32) Yes Indeed (Huntsville-Please Me Please) is a filly from Please Me Please, who earned $756,000 racing and has produced five $100,000 winners to date.

“Also in the consignment is (HN 43) Speed It Up (So Surreal-Sugarcoated) who is a full brother to Splash Brother, who just won the $240,000 Empire Breeders Classic at Tioga.”

“We are very proud to have bred, raised and sold Splash Brother and Hickfromfrenchlick — both sired by our stallion So Surreal and both winners of the Empire Breeders Classic for 3-year-old pacing colts, in 2019 and 2020. Both colts were sold at the Goshen Sale. We also sold three of the four 2019 New York Sire Stake finals pacing winners at the Goshen Sale.”

“We have 23 yearlings consigned to Goshen as agent from several reputable farms that include 10 trotters headlined by (HN 51) Middleman (Devious Man-Vivica Hall) who is a colt from the first crop of Devious Man out of Vivica Hall, who is the dam of ($442,000 winner) Shaq Is Back, a very nice trotting colt (HN 66) Beam Me Up (Trixton-Athena’s Mission) and several others.”

“Anyone that wants to inspect the yearlings can do so at Cameo Hills Farm between now and Friday (Sept. 11) but please call ahead.”

Garrett Bell – General Manager – Winbak Farm

“We have 39 in the Goshen consignment this year and the ones I like most are (HN 6) Blue Label (Bolt The Duer-Hasty Dewar) who comes from a nice solid family and has good size. (HN 46) Spinoff Time (Bolt The Duer-Topless Hall) also comes from a good family and is very sharp looking. (HN 47) River Belle (Heston Blue Chip-Tug River Della) has a nice pedigree and a solid body as well.”

“Yearling Manager Jim Ladwig likes (HN31) Bluejeansnboots (Andover Hall-Pinkcowgirlboots) who is long, racy and athletic. (HN 54) Holly Hall (Heston Blue Chip-Wilma Hall) has nice size and is long leggy and athletic. (HN 46) Spinoff Time (Bolt The Duer-Topless Hal) is also very athletic and acts very racy. And (HN 62) The Crowd Loves Me (Heston Blue Chip-All The Ladies) and (HN 67) Armed Bandit (Heston Blue Chip-Bandolera Hanover) are also real athletic and have great size.”

Jean Brown – General Manager – Blue Chip Farm

“Blue Chip has five yearlings in the sale this year. Two that stand out are (HN 50) Tantalize Bluechip (Devious Man-Vivacious Lady) and (HN 60) Twix Blue Chip (Devious Man-Mars Bar). They are from the first crop of Devious Man which is very exciting. Devious Man is Credit Winner’s leading money winning son.”

“We also have a very nice Rock N Roll Heaven filly (HN 71) Tithing Blue Chip (Rock N Roll Heaven-Ace Of Pace). She is the first filly from the mare Ace Of Pace, who made almost $490,000 lifetime.”
