Mister F Daag, a 3-year-old colt sired by Conway Hall, won the 123rd Deutsches Traber-Derby at the historic Mariendorf Trabrennbahn in Berlin Sunday afternoon (Aug. 5).

Trained by Paul Hagoort and with Robin Bakker in the bike, Mister F Daag won the Derby, raced over the 1-3/16th mile distance, easily in a new race record 1:56.2 (mile rate). The purse for the winner was $120.000.

This was the fourth year in a row that trainer/driver Paul Hagoort and Robin Bakker, who both are of Dutch nationality, won the German Derby and that is a new record.

Legendary Charlie Mills was the first trainer/driver to win the Derby three years in a row back in 1937-1939. Charlie Mills won the Derby a total of nine times. The record for Derby wins in Germany is held by another legend, Johannes Frömming, who won 11 times.
