Coors Light signs on as Adios title sponsor

by Evan Pattak, for The Meadows

Washington, PA — The Meadows Racetrack & Casino announced today that Coors Light has signed on as title sponsor for the $600,000 (est.) Delvin Miller Adios, the track’s signature race. The event now will be known as the Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids Presented by Coors Light.

Kevin Decker, director of racing for The Meadows, thanked Coors Light for its support and noted that the title sponsorship extends the productive partnership between Coors Light and The Meadows, which already includes a “Coors Light Race of the Day.”

“As one of the premier sporting events of the summer, The Adios is a natural fit for Coors Light,” Decker said. “We anticipate a number of joint promotional efforts, targeted to existing and new fans, that will enhance the awareness and impact of The Adios.”

This year’s Adios, a major test for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers that highlights Grand Circuit Week at The Meadows, will be contested over the last two Saturdays in July. Eliminations are set for the evening of Saturday (July 19), while the final goes the following Saturday afternoon as the anchor of a blockbuster card expected to offer approximately $1 million in purses. Also featured are the $150,000 (est.) Quinton L. Patterson Adioo Volo for 3-year-old filly pacers; the $100,000 (est.) Gov. David L. Lawrence Arden Downs for freshman colt and gelding pacers; the $100,000 (est.) Mary Lib Miller Arden Downs for 2-year-old filly pacers; the $65,000 (est.) James Manderino Arden Downs for sophomore colt and gelding trotters; and the $65,000 (est.) Ned McCarr Arden Downs for 3-year-old filly trotters.
