Frank Coppola, Jr. piloted Jacob’s Western to his 13th win of the season on Saturday.

Coppola broke the previous record last season at the Spa. In 2008, Coppola piloted 321 winners at Saratoga and with his first win on Saturday night eclipsed that mark. Hot Love pulled off the upset for Coppola and gave the talented reinsman his historic win.

Coppola, who turns 50 years of age later this week, also scored a victory with Jacob’s Western on Saturday. The win was the 13th of the season for that claiming pacer.

With two weeks left in the racing season, Coppola will have ample opportunity to pad the win total and put his record setting total even higher.

Live racing continues on Sunday afternoon with a matinee program set to begin at 12:45 pm.
