Corwin Keith Nixon, 67, dies

Columbus, OH — Corwin Keith Nixon, Sr., 67, of Lebanon, Ohio, died July 26, 2014.

Born to Corwin M. and Eleanor E. (nee Van Meter) Nixon on Nov. 7, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Nixon was a 1964 graduate of Lebanon High School and lifetime member at the Lebanon United Methodist Church.

He was the General Manager at the Warren County (Lebanon) racetrack for many years and was very active in harness racing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lebanon, Jay Sees, Shriners, USTA, Warren County Fair Board and a Turtlecreek Township Trustee.

He enjoyed watching Ohio State and the Cincinnati Bengals play.

Mr. Nixon is survived by his wife, Lornia (nee Barnette); son, Corwin Keith Jr. (Kerry); daughter, Melissa (Dr. Brent) Miller; son-in-law, Seth (Mora) Meranda; twin sister, Karen (Don) Heaberlin; and grandchildren, Preston Meranda, Austin Meranda, Eleanor, Corwin K. III, Cameron, Kaelynn Miller, and one more on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Tina Maria Meranda.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday (July 29) from 5-7 p.m. at Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday (July 30) at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Humane Society and Diabetes Association.
