East Rutherford, NJ — The Friday night (August 5) card at Meadowlands Racetrack featured a pair of divisions in the Countess Adios for freshman pacing fillies and two splits in the Niatross for juvenile colt pacers.
In the first $58,750 Countess Adios split it was American Jewel and driver Tim Tetrick scoring in a time of 1:51. The daughter of American Ideal-Trim Hanover defeated Podges Lady and Blackjack Princess, who finished in a dead heat for second, for her third victory in as many career starts. She has earned $40,375 for trainer Jimmy Takter and owner Brittany Farms.
The second $58,750 split went to Economy Terror and Brian Sears in a time of 1:51.4. The Chris Oakes trainee, a daughter of Western Terror-Mattatonic, is now two-for-two lifetime. She stopped Pirouette Hanover and Romantic Moment. Economy Terror is owned by Chuck Pompey, Howard Taylor and Edwin Gold.
Also on the card were a pair of $58,625 Niatross divisions for freshman pacing colts. The opener went to Frank Bellino’s Mybrother George (Andy Miller) in a narrow victory over Major Bombay in a 1:51.1 clocking. Wrubellious was third. The winner is a son of Rocknroll Hanover-Armbro Ophelia who is trained by Bruce Saunders.
The second division went to Brittany Farns and John Cherveny’s Allstar Legend and Brian Sears in a 1:52.1 score. The Four Starzzz Shark-Lifetime Gal lad is trained by George Teague, Jr. He defeated Mattacardle and Verdad.
