Hanover, PA — His syndicate announced today that the stud fee for world champion Crazed has been changed to $2,500 for the 2015 breeding season. The new fee is retroactive for mares that have already been booked this year.

Crazed returned to his roots at New York’s Blue Chip Farms this season after a two-year stint at Hanover Shoe Farms in Pennsylvania.

“The breeders who make up his syndicate understand the competitive nature of the stallion business,” said syndicate manager David Reid. “We made the stud fee change to simply help maximize the horse’s book, to give him every opportunity to continue on at siring high-level stakes winners.

“We think the new fee offers great value and should attract breeders who’d like to stay in New York and take advantage of the outstanding sire stakes program there. To paraphrase Blue Chip’s slogan, you can breed in New York and take on the world.”

Crazed’s first three crops have earned more than $7 million internationally and include New York Sire Stakes champions plus open and international stakes winners.

In addition to marquee trotters like 2014 season’s champion Tirade Hanover 4,1:51.1 ($640,890), Crazy About Pat 3,1:54 ($472,744) and Gural Hanover 3,1:53.3 ($423,763), Crazed is the sire of current sensation JL Cruze 4,1:52.1-’15 ($129,107), winner of seven of nine 2015 starts including finals of the Charles Singer Memorial and Super Bowl Series at the Meadowlands.
