Freehold, NJ — Simon and Schuster book publishers will release a paperback edition of Crazy Good: The True Story of Dan Patch, the Most Famous Horse in America, by Charles Leerhsen, on June 2.

The book, released in 2008 in hardback, was a strong seller, prompting the decision to release a paperback edition, to sell for $16.

“Crazy Good” was positively reviewed in USA Today, Newsweek, Entertainment Weekly, The Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Cleveland Plain Dealer and other major news outlets.

Newsweek characterized Leerhsen’s book as, “A terrific look at legendary if now forgotten equine superstar named Dan Patch. Leerhsen does for early 20th-century American harness racing what Laura Hillenbrand’s Seabiscuit did for Depression-era Thoroughbred racing.”

Leerhsen will do a reading and signing to commemorate the paperback release at The Book Court, 163 Court Street, Brooklyn, New York at 7:00 p.m. June 4.

Those interested in arranging a signing with Leerhsen can contact Ellen Harvey at the U.S. Trotting Association’s Harness Racing Communications division, 877-800-USTA (8782), ext. 4000, or e-mail HRCNews@ustrotting.com. Cover art can also be obtained by contacting Harvey.
