Crys Dream heavy favorite to capture Elegantimage

Freehold, NJ — Crys Dream, undefeated in three races this year and riding a nine-race win streak dating to last July, is the 1-1 morning line favorite to win Saturday’s (June 18) C$519,000 Elegantimage Stakes for 3-year-old filly trotters at Mohawk Racetrack.

On June 10, Crys Dream won her elimination race by 3-1/4 lengths over Seducedbychocolate in 1:55.1. She is driven by Luc Ouellette and trained by Henrik Hollsten. She is owned by Reve Avec Moi Dreamwithme Stable, Deo Volente Farms, TLP Stable, and Jerry Silva.

Last year, Crys Dream won the Goldsmith Maid and Peaceful Way stakes on her way to division honors in both the U.S. and Canada.

“She’s the same really, let’s knock on wood for that, but I haven’t had to use her hard, so she was the same (Friday) as (the previous) week,” Ouellette said. “She’s a dragon that’s not awake yet.

“It’s going to be a long year for her and expectations are really high. The less we have to use the better it is because we’ll need it later. As you can see with the other (Elegantimage) division, the good ones are starting to come out. I’m sure the competition will get tougher as we go on.”

Beatgoeson Hanover won the other Elegantimage elimination, defeating Eagle Canada by three-quarters of a length in 1:54.4. She is driven by David Miller for trainer Richard “Nifty” Norman and owner Neven Botica. She was last year’s Pennsylvania Sire Stakes champion and has won seven of 11 career races. She is the 4-1 Elegantimage second choice in the morning line.
