Cumberland Run nearing draw time

Corbin, KY — Cumberland Run’s first draw will take place in just one week. Entries for opening day will close at 9 a.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 10). Entries can be made now online. Online entries are encouraged throughout the whole meet but can be made via phone.

The first draw will be for Kentucky Sire Stakes 2-year-old pacing fillies and colts. Wednesday’s draw will feature 2-year-old trotting fillies and colts. And Thursday’s draw for Tuesday will include all 4-year-old Sire Stakes events.

The first week will also include Mini Series 1-4 for sophomore filly pacers, colt and gelding pacers, filly trotters and colt and gelding trotters. There will also be multiple overnight races offered.

Purses for the 2023 meet will start at $8,000 for the bottom and $20,000 for the top.

This year’s meet will take place at our brand new track and facility located in Corbin, Ky. Horses can stable at the Red Mile or ship directly into the paddock at Cumberland Run on race day.

The first qualifiers will be held on Monday (Oct. 16). Entries will be taken for the qualifiers on Sunday (Oct. 15) with the box closing at Noon.

All paperwork must be on file at Cumberland Run, including herpes and Coggins. All horses entering the grounds must also have an up to date health certificate. Any questions can be directed to Race Secretary Kevin Mack at 765.621.8050.
